I've been a big fan of Diddy Riese since being a student at UCLA and was so excited to be able to place a catering order of cookies for the dessert at my wedding in May 2024! It was such a fun touch that my fellow Bruins and other LA locals were excited about. Always love the cookies, ice cream sandwiches, and shaved ice but for our wedding, we got the candy chocolate chip, chocolate chip, double chocolate, white chocolate, and cinnamon sugar cookies and they were all a hit!
WOW! I really enjoyed their cookies and Ice Cream Sandwich. It was so delicious and for a great price, it’s worth it the visit here! Just keep in mind that is can be empty of people, and in just seconds, it full get too crowded with a long line outside. It’s very popular in town and I loved it. I tried my whole Chocolate Macadamia with Pistachios and Almond Ice Cream. Thanks to MAX, the guy who took my order, who’s bilingual, speaks in Spanish too, helped me for my first time ordering there.

Gotta love Diddy Riese! $4.50 ice cream sandwiches (as of August 2023) made from freshly baked cookies and rwo scoops of very good ice cream. Served in a bowl with a spoon so that you can eat the ice cream and nibble away at the cookies
I got a to-go order for my family and Silvano and Rosa went out of their way to make sure my ice cream wouldn’t melt on the drive home by providing me with a insulated baggie. Such honest, humble and hardworking people at this place. Thank you!!

You can only purchases a dozen in the same flavor per customer. You have to order ahead for lager order in the same cookie. Service is fast. Everything is always fresh and delicious. Always busy. Closed on Mondays. Limited room from eating inside. Grab n go kind of place. Located in the heart of Westwood/UCLA.
Best stop for dessert in Westwood! Ice cream sandwiches for $4.50 your choice of two cookies and scoop of ice cream. $7.50 for a dozen cookies or $3.50 for a dozen day old cookies. I ordered fresh cookies for the ice cream sandwiches and ordered day old (was curious how they would taste). Verdict: no difference only downside is you get what they have pre-packed. Bottom line, you can't beat these prices in 2024. It is so nice to see this iconic spot 41 years and counting when other places are closing. Our favorite stop and now we have introduced it to our kids.
The cookies and ice cream sandwiches are the best! i try to stop by whenever i am in the area. however, i moved overseas a few years ago so have only been back once a year or so. i went this past Sunday night and a slightly older woman took my order for a dozen cookies, a dozen day old cookies, ice cream sandwich, and a shave ice. total was $18.50. when she handed me the paper slip there was a tip line. perhaps I've been out of the country for too long but i didn't tip people at my local mrs. fields, krispy kreme, etc. when i lived in the US and just didn't tip people who put things into a container for me so i just put a line in the tip line and didn't tip. the woman who took my order glared at me and said in an angry voice "i am never serving you again"... if it were just the cookies, it would be 5 stars but i don't think I'll be back if i need to tip the person who puts cookies in a box for me. sorry...
Definitely worth the wait! Staff are quick and kind, cookies are super soft, and the ice cream is creamy and delicious. Would come back to this cute colorful spot in LA!
